What brings me pleasure?
Background info
*I attended the Energy Synchorization Process training with Christian A. Schwarz from October 2022 to January 2023. I decided to do the training once I had read Schwarz’s book “God’s Energy Vol.1” The training was carried out online through seven virtual one-on-one sessions in coaching style. Christian attended from a little town in Northern Germany, and I from Duvall, WA. The purpose of the training was to synchronize my cognitive system with my energy system. The cognitive system speaks primarily through words and conscious mind whereas the energy system speaks in picture, through the unconscious. God’s energy is what makes me want to do and enjoy things, and He communicates these things primarily through my energy system. That is why it is important to align my conscious aspirations with my inner tendencies – according to God’s design.*
Today's topic: Pleasure
What brings me pleasure? That is a question that, in the past, I have NOT asked myself too many times, if ever. Pleasure has been a category that has little to do with my Christian faith or my denomination’s traditional teachings. Sometimes I even have got the impression that Christians shouldn’t be experiencing pleasure - it is something ‘earthly’ and thus to be avoided.
With these presumptions, my first session of Energy Synchronization Process (ESP) training took me by surprise. While evaluating my Christian journey and walk with God, I was called to evaluate the degree to which I'm experiencing pleasure in my life. What a new concept! And even in the context of my relationship with God – what would this mean?
The answer along with the practical application came at the second session of ESP. It was all about being in contact with myself and perceiving what I enjoy: My task was to intuitively choose my favorites pieces from a selection of pictures. Before I made my choices, Christian (my trainer) lead me through a relaxation exercise so that my energy system would be activated.
I was instructed to choose only the pictures that talk to me strongly in a positive manner. I shouldn't choose anything that brought about negative feelings in me. This was such an exciting and novel exercise - choosing pictures purely based on if I enjoyed them or not! I didn't have to rationally think of any other aspects to the picture, just find contact with my feelings.
The pictures I chose still bring me joy to this day! And they have a lot more signifigance to me now than when I first chose them. This is because the pictures served as the basis for my motto goal. I will share more of that in my next post. Energy system communicates through pictures and is unconscious to a large part, whereas cognitive system communicates with words – it is the conscious mind. Thus the pictures I chose were regarded as communication from my energy system and indicating something profound of my personality and God-given purpose in life.
Practical application: Enjoying the multilingual family group
Since this ESP exercise, I have grown in my ability to notice moments of pleasure in my everyday life. For example, this Friday I attended a multilingual family group at Kaisa’s school. I went just out of curiosity and found out that it is a structured gathering intended to teach the parents on language learning environment at the school. Or that’s what it was about this time at least. The parents were originally from Venezuela, Pakistan, France, Russia and the US. I enjoy international community and different languages in general so I felt right at home and inspired in this environment.
But I also noticed two moments that brought me such pleasure that I could feel even physically in my body:
The multilingual teacher explained a specific process on how he trains his English-learners in sentence structures. One of the things the students get to do in this exercise is to generate adjectives. The teacher explained how a Spanish and Ukrainian native speakers came up with the word ‘intelligent’ based on their mother tongue – the word has a similar root in both languages. When the teacher shared this, I could feel chills in my body. My interpretation of this reaction is that I love learning about the similarities in different cultures and languages, and I’m very touched by people collaborating for common goals.
Another example in the multilingual family group comes from visiting a classroom with the other parents. I got to observe the classroom teacher teach the kids some grammar. I felt so happy and joyful when I saw how talented the teacher is and how much the kids enjoy the learning process. Again, I think I know why this moment was so touching to me: I praise God and rejoice with Him each time I see a person using their God-given gifts for the good of others. And people enjoying each other while they are gathering with good intentions.
Noticing these things is very encouraging to me, and I will continue to stay attuned to my joy moments. Because that is staying attuned to God's energy. God has created me with specific interests, talents, and characteristics according to His good purpose. And I will learn more about His purposes when I observe the things that strongly resonate with me.
In my next post, I will share how the motto goal started to take shape after choosing the initial 4 pictures. And how I’m able to utilize that lesson learned in my everyday life today.
Trust the mountain.
Grow in the Light.
Enjoy the harmony.
